Three Bodies Found in Irvine Home

December 13, 2022 By Alan Cohen

FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Irvine, CA

Bio SoCal was on the scene in Irvine, California to clean up after a suspected murder-suicide at a private residence.

After family members in Canada were unable to contact their relatives in Irvine, California, for over a year, Canadian authorities contacted Irvine Police to request a wellness check. Once officers arrived at the address in question, they found three severely decomposed bodies inside the home. Upon further investigation, detectives discovered all three suffered from a gunshot wound. There was no forced entry or foul play detected and a gun was found at the scene. After looking at dental records, two victims were identified – the third was pending at the time of reporting.

Once the police completed their on-site investigation and released the scene, Bio SoCal arrived with all the needed equipment and staff to clean the affected property and remove all the biohazard contamination.

Unattended deaths and murder-suicides may require extensive cleanup

When someone dies and the body is not discovered right away, the natural decomposition process begins, returning the elements of the body back to the earth. While this is a natural process and an important part of our planet’s eco-system, the results can be hazardous for other living beings such as humans and animals.

As the body comes apart, cells die, and blood and fluids follow gravity, infecting the surrounding materials with these fluids along with any viruses and bacteria they carry. In the case of a building, the fluids soak through flooring and damages the structure itself.

In murder-suicide cleanup cases like the house in Irvine, the structure underlying the affected area in the months following the murder-suicide was severely damaged and needed to be replaced before the estate could dispose of the property. To restore the property and make it safe for future residents, we carefully removed any unsalvageable personal belongings and all the affected building layers infected with the body fluids. We then used industrial-grade cleaning equipment to clean and disinfect the property along with permanent odor removal.

Indoor unattended deaths need permanent odor removal

Once all the infected substances have been removed and the property thoroughly cleaned, we use odor removal technology to permanently eliminate any lingering smell from the affected spaces. With this home in Irvine, the odor of the decomposing bodies had spread throughout the house but we have handled many such cases and have the experience to handle it.

Bio SoCal is here for the Irvine community

At Bio SoCal, each unattended death cleanup or murder-suicide cleanup we undertake is never just a job. Each one involves people who lived, breathed, and loved. Each one involves grieving loved ones and a surrounding community who just lost a friend or neighbor. It is for these people and their protection we undertake the cleanup while giving respect to the one they lost.

Our hearts reach out to the grieving loved ones of this family and to the entire Irvine community.

If you need biohazard cleanup for any reason, we are available 24/7 to be there for you in your time of need. Call us today at (949) 424-6299 for a free consultation and estimate.

Murder Cleanup After The Stabbing of Rapper Drakeo The Ruler

January 14, 2022 By Alan Cohen

FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Rapper Drakeo the Ruler

Bio SoCal was backstage in Exposition Park after the Once Upon a Time in L.A. festival concert cleaning up after the stabbing and subsequent death of Drakeo the Ruler.

Stabbing of Drakeo the Ruler

While Drakeo the Ruler, a 28-year-old rapper whose real name was Darrell Wayne Campbell, was waiting to perform at the concert in downtown L.A., a fight broke out on the roadway backstage involving several people. During the altercation, Drakeo was stabbed in the neck. While police rushed to the scene and paramedics attended to the victim, Drakeo’s injuries were severe, and he died later the next day at a local hospital.

The festival itself went on just a little longer before concert organizers decided to cancel and it was announced the concert was ending early and everyone needed to leave. Investigators then completed their task of gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses before releasing the scene back to the property owners. Once the police were done, Bio SoCal was then called to come clean the roadway of all blood and body fluids to protect the public from any and all biohazards remaining after the crime. With experience cleaning crime scenes spanning from mass shootings to small spaces, Bio SoCal is the trusted crime scene cleaner throughout Southern California, and we are always willing to help at a moment’s notice.

Crime Scene Cleanup in L.A.

Tragedies such as the stabbing at the concert in L.A. are tragic events. When they happen, our team at Bio SoCal works hard to make sure the tragedy ends with the crime itself by thoroughly cleaning all blood, body fluids, investigative chemicals, and other biohazards such as tear gas and drug paraphernalia (if applicable). Once we ensure the harmful substances are removed from the scene and disposed of responsibly, we then sanitize and disinfect all the surfaces, nooks, and crannies, so no viruses or bacteria remain to infect another person or damage a building structure.

Compassionate Service Amid Tragedy

All our staff at Bio SoCal provide compassionate service to all those caught in the midst of tragedy such as a stabbing or homicide. Often in shock and reeling with grief for lost loved ones or overwhelmed with caring for victims as they recover, we treat every person with the utmost respect and kindness, understanding they are going through life-altering events. From gently answering any questions, working quickly with as little disruption as possible, to handling insurance claims, we strive to take as much weight off people’s shoulders as humanly possible by superior biohazard cleanup so people can concentrate on their own recovery, grief, and healing.

In the case of the concert stabbing, our team at Bio SoCal knew we needed to clean up the roadway and make it safe as quickly as possible, not only for the safety of the public, but for all the workers taking down the venue at the park. For us, cleaning an area after someone dies is also a sign of respect to the victims and, in this case, to Drakeo and his family. Just as our bodies deserve respect when we pass away, no one’s blood should be left on the ground uncared for. Our hearts hurt to know this young man’s life was taken in such a brutal way.

Drakeo leaves behind his family including his mother, brother, and a young son, friends, and many fans. Our deepest condolences to them all. May he rest in peace.

Homicide Cleanup in Irvine

June 21, 2021 By Alan Cohen

FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Irvine, CaliforniaOn a Tuesday in May, Bio SoCal was called upon to help a family begin to recover after a senseless homicide in Irvine. We are glad we could help but of course wish we didn’t need to.

Police were first alerted to the homicide situation when a man called his parole officer to tell him he had just killed his wife. Multiple Irvine police officers arrived at the residence with lights and sirens blaring to find the man waiting in the home with his wife’s body lying on the kitchen floor, already deceased and showing signs of trauma. Officers arrested both the husband and a male tenant (who was later declared innocent). Upon further investigation, it was revealed the wife had a protective stay-away-order against her husband due to a domestic violence violation back in November 2020. The suspect is currently being held in jail until his trial date.

We are there so you don’t have to be

Whenever we are at a scene cleaning up after a homicide, accident, or suicide, we wish we could have somehow kept safe the person who died instead of only being able to protect the survivors by cleaning up any biohazards and investigative chemicals left behind. This is particularly true in domestic violence cases such as this when an innocent person is killed by an abuser. It breaks our hearts to see the situation, but we take comfort in knowing that by us handling the homicide cleanup of the biohazards left behind, the families won’t ever have to see it. Hopefully, those who have lost loved ones never have to witness for themselves the tragic scenes left behind that we see every day, scenes they would never be able to forget. By handling the cleanup on the family’s behalf, we know we not only keep the survivors physically safe but can prevent further emotional trauma as well as they grieve and sort through belongings.

Property insurance usually covers crime scene cleanup

Most property insurance covers the cost of professional biohazard cleanup after events such as homicide, accidents, and other crime scene cleanups. If for some reason you are not covered, there are financial resources available to victims of crime to pay for our services.

Human Options: Human Options, an emergency shelter and resource organization located here in Irvine, ignites “social change by educating Orange County to recognize relationship violence as an issue that threatens everyone, advocating for those affected by abuse, extending a safe place for victims and empowering survivors on their journey of healing.”

City of Irvine Victim Services: There is legal and financial help for crime victims including victims of abuse. Whether you need a crisis assistance, a court advocate, guidance through the legal system, or emergency financial assistance, there are resources available and people to help you here in Irvine. There are even two police officers assigned to serve as liasons with the LGBTQ+ community.

Agoura Hills, CA Shooting – Apparent Murder – Suicide

July 27, 2020 By Alan Cohen

FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Agoura Hills, CaliforniaIt was, unfortunately, a very busy weekend for Bio SoCal’s on-call crew as they responded to a homicide in Agoura Hills, several unattended deaths, and a COVID-19 disinfection. While we take pride in being there for our community in times of need, offering our expertise in professional murder and suicide cleanup, seeing the homes of the victims and the distraught families left behind reminds us of the deep humanity we all share.

So often when a news report of an accident or shooting is run, there is so much beyond the story we never see or hear about. While an article online may be scanned through as we glance through the headlines, for our staff at Bio SoCal, we are reminded daily of the stories behind the articles. We see the wife newly widowed after the accident, the children of the shooting victims coming to grips with the loss of their parents, and the business owner trying to regain a sense of order after a crime has been committed at their store. None of us see the huge network of family and friends left shocked and grieved, all the people who loved and cared for the one who passed. However, we do know the effects of a few moments can last the rest of someone’s life in ways they never imagined or can cut someone else’s life short when they were always sure they would have tomorrow.

Officers Found 2 People Dead Inside the Townhome

One of the events we cleaned up after this last weekend was an apparent murder-suicide in Agoura Hills, California. After a neighbor called the police requesting a welfare check, officers found two people inside a townhome shot to death. With a weapon at the scene and no suspect, they are currently investigating it as a murder-suicide. The woman, Sherry Thomas, 49, and John Mann, 57, were once in a relationship and experiencing a domestic dispute, according to a neighbor. The mother of two children, Sherry was a well-known entrepreneur and business owner throughout Conejo Valley. She founded Blush Boutique and built the business to the point where there are three locations in Encino, Calabasas, and Thousand Oaks. A well-respected and familiar face throughout the area, Sherry’s life affected so many and will be greatly missed.

In these especially difficult times with so much going on, it is easy to keep to ourselves and forget the friends and extended family we care about outside our four walls. Today, though, take the time to check in on them, see how they are doing, and ask if they need any help. Life can change so quickly any day we walk this earth but especially in this time of the pandemic, political unrest, and protests, life can be especially unpredictable. Don’t take those you love for granted. Enjoy their presence and stay safe.

Studio City, CA – Apparent Double-Murder Suicide

May 14, 2020 By Alan Cohen

FacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmailFacebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Studio City Double Murder SuicideWe were recently on scene in Studio City, CA to conduct a biohazard cleanup after a very tense situation involving an apparent double murder suicide. Unfortunately, we have more such calls already scheduled. Though police are not sure what started the altercation, they were called late in the evening to an apartment complex in Studio City after shots were fired in the area. In an apartment unit, they found the bodies of two men in their sixties, 69-year-old Jaturong Siriprasir, and 67-year-old Joseph Marcott, lying in a back bedroom who had been shot to death multiple times and the body of 47-year-old Phana Subpramoon in the living room with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. After cordoning off the area and conducting their on-scene investigation, which is now ongoing, Bio So Cal was called to the property to clean up the spilled blood and bodily fluids and decontaminate the area.

For all those whose hearts hurt and who are grieving lost loved ones, Bio SoCal is dedicated to serving our neighbors in Studio City and throughout Los Angeles County.
